Based on learner behaviour across structured meal prep modules at Bithavo LuraxBatch cooking frequency matters more than recipe complexity
Learners who cooked in batches at least once per week — regardless of how elaborate those meals were — showed markedly higher retention of prep habits at the 60-day mark. Those who attempted intricate recipes but cooked less often tended to abandon the practice sooner.
A simple grain, a protein, and a roasted vegetable repeated across four days outperformed elaborate single-day cooking sessions in nearly every habit-tracking metric we observed. Frequency builds the habit; complexity is secondary.
Storage method affects variety
Learners with access to at least six uniform containers reported higher meal variety per week. The visual organisation appears to reduce decision fatigue at mealtime.
Sunday is not universal
Wednesday prep sessions showed comparable success rates to Sunday sessions. The specific day matters far less than choosing a fixed, recurring slot each week.

Self-reported satisfaction with prepped meals dropped noticeably when the same combination was consumed more than three days in a row. Introducing one variable — a different sauce, a new grain base, or a textural element — extended satisfaction significantly without requiring additional prep time.
